Founded by riverfolk and wanderers seeking peace from the coastal trade wars, Dellwood grew upon moored houseboats, each tethered to wooden pylons and connected by rope bridges and lantern-lit walkways.

The Bounty of River and Forest

Dellwood’s prosperity flows from its surroundings. The giant forest mushrooms, known locally as Unami, are harvested from the nearby woods and prized across Tallanon for their rich, savory flavor. The blue river lobsters and black eels of the Hobbit River are delicacies, said to taste best when cooked under moonlight—a tradition tied to the village’s devotion to Lunara, Goddess of the Moon and Tides.

Faith Beneath the Silver Light

Every full moon, villagers gather on the docks to offer silver coins and river lilies to Lunara. Her temple—a crescent-shaped shrine built from driftwood and shell—stands at the water’s edge, glowing faintly at night. Fishermen claim the goddess blesses their nets and guides lost boats home through fog and storm.

Whispers of Shadows and Secrets

Despite its serene beauty, Dellwood hides darker currents. Rumors speak of an organized band of smugglers and thieves who use the houseboats and river channels to move contraband from Port Kaldren inland. Locals turn a blind eye, for the smugglers keep the peace—and pay well.

Deep within Southern Hallows Wood, beyond the mushroom groves, lies a hidden magical shrine said to cure blindness and disease. Few have found it, and those who return claim the moonlight itself healed them.
